Ann Wilson Worley was appointed to the City Council in August of 2003. In 2006, she was elected to represent Ward II. Formerly she was the City’s Recreation Director from 1992-1997. During that time, Worley also assisted the development of the City’s recycling program and volunteered with Beckley Mainstreet. From 1997 to 2007 she worked as a real estate appraiser for her brother, Robert G. Wilson, Jr. (Tyke) at Wilson and Associates.
By working for the City of Beckley as Recreation Director for five years and being an active Council member for seven, she has gained experience and knowledge of the daily challenges of the various departments within the City of Beckley. Worley is also a member of the West Virginia Municipal League Board of Directors where she holds the office of Parliamentarian. She enjoys working with the residents in her ward to help them maintain a good quality of life in the City of Beckley.
A native of Beckley, Ann is the daughter of Bob and Sookie Wilson and the granddaughter of Doug and Lucy Bowers. Ann has been married to Terry Worley for eleven years. Her son, Taylor Callahan, attends West Virginia University. Mary Beth Bolen, her step-daughter, is a Medical Assistant. Ann and Terry are blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Makensea, Zoey, and Zayne.
