With great sadness, the Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia is announcing the cancellation of what would have been our 34th Annual Tailgate Halloween.
Tailgate Halloween has changed over the years, but the premise has always been the same – to provide safe trick-or-treating for children in our community. This year the Museum just couldn’t assure the safety of all of the children and the many businesses, groups, or organizations that have participated over the years.
“Tailgate takes the time, money and effort of dozens of individuals to execute. With the current State health and safety mandates currently in effect – an event of this magnitude just doesn’t seem prudent”, says Leslie Baker, Director of Parks and Recreation.
Tailgate Halloween has become a long-standing Beckley tradition and we are truly sorry to have to make this decision – but rest assured, we will be back next year bigger and better than ever!
