Beckley’s Kids Classic Festival is a multi-day, community-wide festival offering numerous family activities. The festival involves local organizations and businesses with the goal of providing affordable entertainment and events for our youth. Some of the festival hosts & activities include:
Saturday, Sept. 2: Autumn Fest at Lake Stephens– 11am–5pm – booths, games, vendors, music, plus water fun at the new splash pad ($5) and aqua park ($10).
Sunday, Sept. 3 – Friday, Sept. 8: The Pottery Place – receive a free tile with any purchase – please show this passport.
Monday, Sept. 4: New River Park Pool – Last day to enjoy the pool this season – children can receive a $1 off discount – show this passport.
Tuesday – Saturday, Sept. 5 – 9: One free game of bowling & shoe rental per child when accompanied by a paying adult at Leisure Lanes, 10am – 9pm, call for lane availability 304-253-7328
Tuesday – Saturday, Sept. 5 – 9: Kids eat free with an adult purchase at Dickey’s BBQ in Beckley & Lester Square – show this passport.
Tuesday Sept. 5 – Humane Society Puppy Swim at the New River Park pool, 5-7pm.
Wednesday, Sept. 6 – Raleigh County Library, board game night 4-6.
Thursday, Sept. 7 – Raleigh County Library, 4pm, Rock out with Legos.
Thursday, Sept. 7 – McManus Trail event – Pick up a treasure map at McDonalds on Prince Street (5-7pm) – Follow the map to win a prize from McDonalds. Boy Scouts will perform bike safety inspections, & accept donations of bikes for Mac’s Toy Fund. Also, visit Active SWV bike rodeo, see a martial arts demo, &/or skate with the Derby Dames on the trail
Friday, Sept. 8 – Baby Fair, 11 am–1 pm, Word Park, Neville Street; Classic Pretty Baby Contest – Entry $10 + diapers for baby pantry, Ages birth to 4 years (pre-register by Sept 3: 304-252- 4769)
Friday, Sept. 8 – Youth Museum & Exhibition Mine (6-8 pm), See Ronald McDonald Variety Show and meet The Super Why Kids at the amphitheater, 6-7 pm; Inside the Youth Museum: new exhibit “Color Play” & Planetarium Shows; Exhibition Mine – Underground mine tours; Admission inside museum & mine tour = $5
Saturday, Sept. 9 – Kids Street Fair-10 am–2 pm;
Festival Booth (Main Street) – School Spirit contest – stop by to add your name to your school’s list – the school that has the most students sign-in, wins $100 Stroll along Main & Fayette Streets to check out various booths, games, food vendors, and more …
