I am a life-long resident of Beckley.  During my youth I worked for the city of Beckley in the Recreation Department mowing grass and later moved on to manage the New River Park swimming pool.  After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School I attended and graduated from Concord College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management.  After graduating college in 1981, I began working at Bowl-Wick Bowling Center (Now Leisure Lanes) where I still work part-time.

In 1989-90, I worked with the Beckley Police Department as a “periodic parking enforcement attendant”.  In 1990 I was fortunate to earn a position with the Beckley Fire Department where I worked my way through the ranks.  I was awarded the “Firefighter of the Year” in 2009.  I achieved the rank of Captain and the position of Fire Marshal for the City of Beckley and retired in 2012.

Currently I am the Fire Coordinator/Director of the Raleigh County Fire Levy where I oversee funding for all fire departments in Raleigh County.  I also serve as President of the Fire Marshal’s Association of West Virginia; United States Bowling Congress/USA Bowling Eastern Regional Instructor.

I look forward to working with not only the citizens within Ward 4 but also all the citizens of Beckley and Raleigh County to make our city and county a great place to live and work.
