IN VALOR THERE IS HOPE

The City of Beckley and the Beckley Police Department has taken the initial step towards insuring that the service and sacrifice of all fallen Beckley Officers will be honored forever. The Police Department hopes to unveil the police officer memorial, which will be located outside of the new police headquarters during the grand opening.

The memorial will bear the names of the three Beckley Officers who’ve died in the line of duty.

Det. Charles E. Smith II. August 29th, 2006
Sgt. David L. Lilly May12, 1975
Ptl. Carl D. Buckland August 26th, 1956

The carved granite and brick memorial has a price tag of $30,000.00

If you would like to donate to this project to help us honor these heroes who gave their lives serving their community please contact Deputy Chief J.R. Corey at 304-256-1717 or jcorey@beckleypd.com.
