RecordsThe Records Division serves as a customer service point and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including legal holidays. Operations of the Beckley Police Department Records Division are supervised by Support Services Commander Capt. Cheri D. Mullens. Records Division is the official repository for all police and collision reports created by the Beckley Police Department. The division completes data entry into the department’s records management system and handles both officer requests for information and public requests. In all, the Records Division processes and maintains nearly 23,000 cases each year.

While the primary goal of the Records Division is to provide support for other divisions, a considerable portion of our time is spent working directly with the public. Clerks provide citizens with several services such as assisting with information requests, and providing crash and criminal offense report copies. Information is also gathered and prepared for local media representatives by Records personnel.

The Records Division also prepares statistical reports such as the NIBRS and Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) for the State of West Virginia, FBI as well as for interdepartmental use to determine crime ratedata.
